Northern Province Permanent Secretary Commissions Key CDF Projects, Disburses Loans and Grants in Nsama District
On Friday, 6th June 2025, Northern Province Permanent Secretary Mr. Bernard Mpundu officiated the commissioning of three major Constituency Development Fund (CDF) projects in Nsama District and led the disbursement of 2024 CDF loans and grants to local beneficiaries.
The commissioned projects include a newly built mini mortuary at Nsama Rural Health Centre, the Kampinda Police Post, and a 1x3 classroom block at Mupundu Primary School. These developments are part of the government's broader decentralization drive aimed at enhancing service delivery and infrastructure at the community level, in line with the vision of President Hakainde Hichilema.
During the event, Mr. Mpundu commended Nsama Town Council and its partners for the effective implementation of the projects, highlighting them as evidence of the impact of increased CDF allocations under the New Dawn Administration.
“These are not just structures—they represent tools for change. Through CDF, we are strengthening our health, education, and security systems, while also injecting financial resources into communities to stimulate local economies,” said Mr. Mpundu.
He reaffirmed the government's commitment to equitable development across all regions, with a particular focus on rural empowerment through decentralization, infrastructure growth, and financial inclusion. He also urged loan and grant recipients to invest the funds wisely and contribute meaningfully to local economic development.
The ceremony was attended by the Nsama District Commissioner, Council Secretary, traditional leaders, civil servants, and community members, who welcomed the projects as a sign of positive and inclusive development.
This milestone underscores the government’s continued efforts to bring services closer to the people, enhance grassroots participation, and ensure that no community is left behind.
