Today, amidst the bustling city of Kitwe, the heart of Zambia's Copperbelt Province, an air of excitement and anticipation filled the streets as residents eagerly awaited the arrival of their esteemed leader, President Hakainde Hichilema. As the sun illuminated the cityscape, casting its golden rays upon the bustling crowds, hope and optimism permeated the atmosphere.

The day began with great enthusiasm as President Hichilema, accompanied by government officials and dignitaries, embarked on a series of transformative initiatives aimed at improving the lives of the Zambian people. The first stop on his itinerary was the Copperbelt University (CBU), where he engaged in a meaningful dialogue with students during the commissioning of 30 boreholes to be drilled in the district.

Addressing the eager audience of students, affectionately referred to as "Monks and Momas," President Hichilema delivered a powerful message of encouragement and support. "Focus on your studies," he urged them, "and do not worry about water challenges. We are drilling boreholes to ensure access to clean water, starting right here on your campus."

With a commitment to addressing the pressing issue of water scarcity, President Hichilema emphasized the importance of providing essential services to communities across Zambia. The commissioning of boreholes marked a significant step towards alleviating water shortages and improving sanitation standards in Kitwe and beyond.

Following the engagement at CBU, President Hichilema proceeded to witness the groundbreaking ceremony of the Bulangililo Water Treatment Plant Expansion—an ambitious project aimed at enhancing water supply infrastructure in Kitwe. Amidst cheers and applause, the President reaffirmed his government's dedication to ensuring access to clean water for all Zambians.

Yet, the day's accomplishments did not end there. In a momentous occasion, President Hichilema inaugurated over 1000 flushable toilets in Kitwe's Kwacha Constituency—an area where such modern amenities were previously unheard of. With pride and satisfaction, he declared, "Our people deserve better, and as a government, we are committed to providing them with improved sanitation facilities and clean water."

As the sun began to set on Kitwe, President Hichilema concluded his day with a visit to the Ndeke area, where he engaged with community members and expressed gratitude for their unwavering support. Addressing the crowd, he emphasized the transformative impact of their vote in the 2021 elections, highlighting achievements such as free education, increased employment opportunities, and the revitalization of the mining sector.

In his closing remarks, President Hichilema reiterated his administration's unwavering commitment to fulfilling its promises to the people of Zambia. "Your vote is what drives us," he declared, "and we will continue working tirelessly to deliver on our commitments and create a better future for all." ZRA INTERCEPTS SMUGGLED ALCOHOL MASQUERADING AS RICE AND KAPENTA IN KAPIRI MPOSHI

In a major breakthrough against smuggling and tax evasion, the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) has intercepted two trucks in Kapiri Mposhi carrying concealed alcoholic beverages disguised as rice, kapenta, and shoes. One of the trucks, with a horsepower of 380, had just 185 kilometers left to complete its 1,100 kilometer journey from Nakonde to Lusaka when alert ZRA officers at the Kapiri checkpoint uncovered the hidden cargo. What had been declared at the Nakonde border as a consignment of rice and kapenta turned out to be boxes of undeclared alcohol. In a separate but similar case, another truck claiming to be transporting shoes was also found to be carrying concealed alcohol.
